Last night, I watched a film in which they mention Dreams by The Cranberries. Yet this is the song that’s been stuck in my head ever since.

Poster art for The Sleeper (2012).
The Sleeper (2012) isn’t a perfect film, much like the early 80s slashers which it pays homage. Still, there’s a lot of heart in the movie and I always appreciate that. They didn’t manage to pull off the retro vibe quite so well as House of the Devil (2009) but I chalk a lot of that up to budget constraints. All in all, I was pretty well satisfied with The Sleeper and would recommend the film without hesitation.
Most VHS aficionados favor the fancier labels like Wizard or Gorgon but my heart will always belong to Vestron.
